Comments that can be attributed to Shadow Minister for Police Peter Ryan:
"John Brumby and his incompetent Police Minister have done nothing to turn around Victoria's growing knife threat.
"Labor has been warned for ten years about the knife threat, but will not increase police numbers or enforce the law so stabbings on the streets have become the norm.
"A Victorian Liberal Nationals Coalition Government will turn around Victoria's growing knife threat by enforcing mandatory reporting by hospitals of stabbings while protecting doctors from liability, removing the seven-day notice period for random knife searches, prohibiting the sale of knives to minors and ensuring a knife amnesty program is extended and promoted into schools."
